A new life for Rami

Rami and Igal

Recently Rami got in touch with Igal to ask for help. Igal has a heart for people struggling with addiction. He and a team from his church run a residential drug rehabilitation centre in Tel Aviv.

Difficult times

Rami is a 37-year-old father of two who had fallen on difficult times. He was a locksmith with a stable home life until he had a serious accident three years ago. The doctors prescribed him opiate-based drugs for the pain but this led to serious drug addiction. After many chances to change, his wife eventually threw him out.

When Igal first spoke to Rami, he made it very clear that we were Jewish followers of Jesus. In response, he quickly told me, ‘I am Jewish not a Christian!’ Eventually however, he agreed to be admitted to the rehab centre. After two months, Rami was enjoying our daily group Scripture studies and our one-to-one Bible studies. During these sessions, Igal saw how the Lord had begun working in his heart. Rami had also started to pray and ask God to give him victory over the drugs.

Couldn’t live without God

After a recent study Rami, told Igal that he had come to realise that he couldn’t live his life without God, and then added ‘...or his son Jesus!’ They then prayed together as Rami repented of his sin and turned in faith to Jesus. Hallelujah!

Please pray for Rami as he grows in grace and for Igal as he disciples him. Please also pray also for restoration of relationships with his family. To find out more about Igal’s ministry among the homeless and addicts in Tel Aviv please visit: imjp.org/homeless
